A little about me...

 

My name is Mary Kate Powell and I am an illustrator located in Raleigh, North Carolina.  I attended college at East Carolina University and studied art and concentrated in illustration.  I specialize in digital painting, graphite, chalk, and scratchboard drawings, and also have experience in design, portraits, and photography.  I focus mainly on nature, science, and folklore in many of my pieces and try to combine the three concepts.  I've grown up in Raleigh and have had my art on display at some local businesses around town such as Cup-A-Joe and have ongoing display pieces at Goodnights Comedy Club and Clouds Brewing.  I also placed second in a juried exhibition at the Litmus gallery downtown in the Petcasso exhibition for my "Chameleon" scratch board piece.
